Bukidnon is a highland province in Northern Mindanao known for its cool weather, vast pineapple plantations, mountain ranges, waterfalls, and indigenous culture. It’s home to scenic spots like Dahilayan Adventure Park, Mt. Dulang-Dulang, and Kaamulan Festival — perfect for adventure seekers and cultural travelers.
My accommodation was at the Green Ridge Apartelle which is near the capitol compound, so early in the morning, using Google Maps, I had my walking tour at the capitol building and to Kaamulan Park and Zoo, where I met the animals that I usually see online, and on TV. The area is surrounded by greens, the breeze is cool, the air is fresh, and the landscape is Instagrammable. The perfect time to visit Kaamulan Park and Zoo is in the morning, and the entrance fee is free. Green Ridge Apartelle is a budget-friendly accommodation located in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and clean, well-maintained rooms, it’s ideal for solo travelers, families, and backpackers exploring the highlands of Mindanao. It’s a popular choice for both short and long stays due to its strategic location and affordability.
The Province of Bukidnon has a lot of tourist spots and destinations to offer. If you're into high altitude, Mt. Kitanglad, Mt. Dulang-Dulang, and Mt. Maagnaw are just three of the must-hiked mountains in the province. If you want a combination of relaxation and extreme, Dahilayan Adventure Park is the perfect spot. And, if you just wish to eat, the province is the fruit basket of Mindanao, so you can visit the Del Monte pineapple plantation or just simply go to the public market; for sure, they have everything.
Kaamulan Park is definitely the most relaxing part of my travel in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. This government-owned park offers an outstanding and remarkable experience to all visitors. Why not? Inside the park, the wind is fresh, the temperature is cool, and the ambiance is relaxing because of the greens that surround the area. The landscape is clean and well-maintained. Thus, the entire area is picture-perfect - a perfect place to bond with your loved ones.
Matin-ao Cold Spring is one of the public summer destinations in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon; it is a long river system where the cool and crystal waters are free-flowing. The crystal clear pool lit by a natural skylight creates a more picturesque, dramatic. Not only that, the area is surrounded by hardwood trees that preserve the tranquility and also serve as a perfect backdrop. And of course, the setup is not complete without the birds singing their lullabies to welcome the visitors. There are benches and a wide open ground for family gatherings and picnics. A habal-habal is needed to visit these spots because they are located in a remote area, on an adjacent location.
Tucked away in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, the Nasuli Cold Spring is a hidden gem known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and refreshing atmosphere. Surrounded by lush greenery, this natural spring is a popular destination for both locals and travelers seeking a relaxing escape from the summer heat. Its cool waters and serene environment make it an ideal spot for swimming, picnics, and family gatherings.
