CENTURIES-OLD CHURCHES IN THE PHILIPPINES

Discover the history of the Philippines marked on the walls of the centuries-old churches. Below are a few must-visit churches in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It was in the 1500s when Ferdinand Magellan arrived in Central Philippines. Rajah Humabon, his wife, and his soldiers were the first Filipinos to accept Christianity in the country. After that, Christianity spread in the country. By the way, I am not catholic by faith, but I love the history that transpired at these places of worship. The most historical sites in the Philippines are the churches, and with respect to its Holiness, conquerors did not destroy a few of these structures. Also, churches served as hospitals and fortresses against the Spanish and Japanese troops.
