Tinago Falls is the top tourist attraction in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte. Its name literally translates to "hidden" in English,. This majestic waterfall captured the attention of travelers worldwide because of its grandeur. The crystal clear and cool water falling by the walls of the artistic rock formation creates a world-class picturesque - such picture-perfect landscape. On the other hand, the area is surrounded by greens that help in preserving the tranquility and relaxing atmosphere.
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: Though it's more pricey, I chose habal-habal because it's more fun than commuting via jeepney. Not only that, for four hours, you can visit the other attractions in Iligan City, such as Maria Cristina Falls, Mimbalut Falls and Paseo de Santiago.
CONTACT PERSON: You can contact Juna on Ph: 09164092622. Her husband or brother-in-law is habal driver/tour guide and she's very friendly.
HOW TO GET TO TINAGO FALLS: From Manila, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines have regular trips to CDO airport. By the airport's entrance, ride in a van or bus bound for Iligan City.
Rates, Budget Friendly and Affordable Place to Stay in Iligan: I stayed at D'Morvie Suites (Iligan City) for only 448 Pesos for 24 hours. The room has flat screen TV, AC, toilet and bath, WiFi (very slow reception). What's good in D'Morvie Suites is that the building is new, clean, affordable and accessible. CONS: The rooms are not so spacious and the condensed moisture from the AC's are falling on the floor by the hallways (DELICADO). The D'Morvie Suites in Iligan City has modern interiors and it's better than the D'Morvie Suites in Davao City. For a person on a tight budget like me, overall - it's a YES for me!
