About Tinalisayan Island

Tinalisayan Island was our second destination from Alibijaban Island to the Burias Islands. Traveling from Animasola Island to this island takes an hour, but this is irrevocably number one among the three islands we visited. When I jumped off the boat and landed in the shallow, crystal clear water, I easily felt a relaxing feeling because the water was really cool, contrary to the heat and UV rays from the sun. Our boat was parked by the tip of the sandbar, so walking on the long stretch of fine and powdery white sand, with the other visitors in their colorful swimming attire, was just awesome! This long sandbar always greets visitors with breathtaking beauty.

How to Get to Tinalisayan Island

The easiest way to reach Tinalisayan is from San Pascual, Masbate. In our case, from Manila, we rode a Superlines bus bound for San Andres, Quezon. Then, a boat ride to Alibijaban. The next day, we arranged an island-hopping tour to Tinalisayan.

Travel Tips for Tinalisayan

  • Best time to visit: summer season (January to May)
  • If from Alibijaban, start to hop at 4 AM
  • Bring your own food and drinking water
  • No overnight accommodations—day trip only
  • Wear reef-safe sunscreen and bring a dry bag

On the other side of the sandbar, there's a spot with stone balancing, a perfect backdrop for a groupie. The calm emerald water surrounding this island is super mega ultra-clear, as in super clear! Due to its oozing clarity, underwater creatures are visible; there's a vast diversity of fish, sea anemones, shells, and crustaceans, and they are abundant with artistic and colorful corals and other marine lifeforms. The sound of the waves hitting the shore is one of the factors that preserves the tranquility and calm ambiance.

Tinalisayan itinerary

Tinalisayan Island has a wide space, perfect for campers. According to the locals, overnight camping is allowed, but campers need to bring everything since nothing is on the island but beauty. Coconuts, Talisay, and other trees help block the sun's rays and provide shade in the area, making it more relaxing. This island is perfect for outings and family gatherings, such as picnics by the beach and swimming. We stayed here for more than an hour.
