Sabang, Puerto Galera

Our group, Batang Hamog Mountaineers, usually make sure to participate in any Freedom-related activities to celebrate the freedom that was proclaimed on June 12, 1898. This year, to be out of our comfort zone we organized a Freedom Dive held in Sabang, Puerto Galera, Mindoro, which is one of the best diving spots in the Philippines. We all know that the Philippines is composed of more than seven thousand islands and are surrounded by water, so scuba diving is just one of the most tried water activities.

Where to Stay in Sabang:

  • We stayed at The Big Apple Resort, a great place to stay.
  • Their scuba training is being held at the pool area, one of the cheapest resorts in Sabang, Puerto Galera.
  • Aside from its scuba facility, the Big Apple has a good ambiance inside because of its landscape with trees and flowers (look at the photo above). Our rooms are clean, with cable TV, shower room with water heater, mini-ref, cabinet, sofa, and terrace.

After diving, I rested for more than an hour, then walked by the beach with the sunset and visited different sides of Sabang. After the tiring activities for the day, we had our dinner and socials by the pool. We were the only group occupying the area, so taking photos and chitchatting was not a problem. For our dinner, we ordered from the resort's menu and were served by friendly waiters.

Looking forward to our 8th Year Anniversary.
