Mt. Marami is one of the hiking destinations in Southern Luzon because of its proximity from Manila. Not only that, it is also one of the most visited mountains in the province because of its simple and gradual trails. Walking on its terrain can give you relaxation because everything is surrounded by green while the mountain slopes from afar are picture-perfect. You can't stop yourself from a death-defying pose on the rock formation called "silyang bato." Fruit-bearing trees, coconuts, bananas and other crops can give you a farmville feeling while the birds are singing their lullabies.
The Trails | More Information: It has a gradual trail but has several fork trails so hiking guides are recommended. During the dry season, the terrain is fine but totally different during the rainy season. The soil turns into a deep, sticky and muddy terrain. Grass, flowers and fruit-bearing trees are visible in most parts of the trail to the campsite.
The Campsite | Things to Remember: The campsite is located a few meters away from the summit. The area is open, wide and surrounded by tall grasses. Since it's open, you can easily feel the cold breeze during sunset and still gets colder in the evening. There are shrubs and grass, so having an insect repellent is highly recommended.
Special Feature | Silyang Bato: Photo above shows the prominent feature on the summit of Marami; hikers call it silyang bato. Silyang bato is part of the huge rock formation on top where the visitors and hikers can do a gravity-defying pose, with awesome background. There is also a 360-degree view of Cavite Province.
How To Get Here | Travel to Cavite in Baclaran: We rode in a bus bound for Naic, Cavite. Alighted beside Petron Gas station. Walked few meters to Magallanes Jeep Station. At the jeepney station, rode in a jeep to Brgy. Ramirez. Then, rode in a trycicle to Brgy. Hall.
